Technology Initiative: Computers for Displaced Students and Teachers
posted over 1 year ago by allisonfrenzel from Pulse Arts
Navigation North has volunteered to spearhead the single initiative to get the 5,000+ displaced students reconnected ASAP with their schools and teachers online via chromebooks. It will take the county and state teams months to locate, secure, and outfit commercial relocation sites in Chico, as over 95% of Paradise structures and infrastructure were wiped out in a single day.
They have set up a specific non-profit fund as the coordinating partner with leads from all Paradise school sites to get their middle school and high school students' information loaded onto 3500 chromebooks with coursework via the Canvas LMS (provided freely by Instructure) in order to reconnect students (no matter where they have ended up)
